Dr. David Armstrong SCCM

Dr. Armstrong, apart from his executive credentials, is a Board Certified Specialist in microbiology who has received international recognition and awards for his innovations and entrepreneurial successes.  David has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, books and has numerous internationally patented innovations.  He conceptualized and pioneered the development of an engineered skin replacement therapy which is licensed to the private sector.

David currently serves as Chief, Corporate Development for a not-for-profit entity, CRI Critical Care Education Network, which has a focus on Canadian and international education and training of health care providers.  At CRI, he continues his passion for building excellence aligned with improving the health care sector.

Dr. Armstrong has been invited onto several corporate for-profit and community not-for-profit Boards.  Most recently, he has served on the Boards of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute [OHRI, Board Executive; 2005 – 2008], one of Canada’s largest health research institutes, and VHA Health (Vice-Chair; 2006 – present), one of the largest providers of not-for-profit community health care and support in Ottawa and the Champlain LHIN.  Apart from his role on the IMHR Board, David is a member of the IMHR Research Committee.
