Janet Cosier

Janet Cosier is the Adviser on Strategic Planning and Risk Management at the Bank of Canada and the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Payments Association.

Mrs. Cosier, an FCMA, holds degrees from York University and the University of Windsor, in mathematics, computer science, accounting and financial management.

Mrs. Cosier is a former Board member of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada, the Financial Management Institute, Ottawa Chapter, and Pinecrest-Queensway Health and Community Services in Ottawa.

Internationally, Mrs. Cosier headed a performance measurement working group of central banks sponsored by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Switzerland and is a member of the BIS Risk Management Working Group. She has provided technical assistance to various central banks in the areas of strategic planning, risk management, governance and financial reporting.
