John Bradford (MB, ChB)
John Bradford (MBChB, DPM, FFPsych, MRC Psych, DABPN, DABFP, FRCPC; Honorary titles/degrees: Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists UK, Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists) as Associate Chief (Forensic) of the Royal Ottawa Healthcare Group. The Integrated Forensic Psychiatric Program, is across the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Center and the Brockville Mental Health Center.
He is also Professor and Head of the Division of Forensic Psychiatry of the University of Ottawa. He was also across appointed as a Professor in the School of Criminology, University of Ottawa and a Professor Department of Psychiatry Queens University. He is an original member of the IMHR.
His research interests included sexual behaviors; impulse control disorders and most aspects of forensic psychiatry. Dr. Bradford is a Past President of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law; Past President and Founder of the Canadian Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
He has received numerous awards for his work in the field of Forensic Psychiatry. He is published over 120 articles and book chapters. He also has over 300 peer-reviewed abstracts from presentations all over the world, including the World Psychiatric Association meeting. He has edited one book on the Clinical Aspects of Forensic Psychiatry and is just completing a second book on the Assessment and Treatment of Sex Offenders.
Dr. Bradford was an International Adviser on DSM-IV as well as an adviser to the Sexual Disorders Work Group and the Psychiatric Systems Interface Disorders and specifically the Impulse Control Work Group.
