2) develop a foundation for collaboration among young researchers;
3) give young researchers the opportunity to learn about the research areas of their peers to increase their capacity as multidisciplinary researchers; and
4) provide fundamental knowledge to clinicians to foster the translation of research findings into clinical care.

Dear colleagues,
In collaboration with the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR), the IMHR Young Researchers’ Forum is pleased to invite you to our 2nd
Annual Conference. This exciting event will be held March 26, 2010 at the Royal
Ottawa Mental Health Centre, located at 1145 Carling Avenue, in Ottawa, Ontario. The theme of our second meeting
is pathways to recovery, with a focus on new breakthroughs in the understanding and treatment of mental illness. With topics from the fields of psychology, psychiatry, neuroscience and
neurology, we will examine how research is leading to new discoveries and generating new hope for those with mental illness.
Our mandate is to provide an enjoyable and valuable resource for young
researchers. To facilitate the participation of young scientists, we have waived
registration fees and offer an incredible lineup of invited lecturers, oral
presentations, educational workshops and poster presentations free of charge to
all conference registrants. The overall conference programme will serve as a
forum for attendees to learn and network with their peers and to showcase their
own research findings. We encourage all interested young researchers to submit
abstracts for consideration for oral or poster presentation at this year’s
conference.
Please check our conference website regularly over the coming months as we
will be posting more information as it becomes available. If you have any
questions regarding the conference or abstract submission, please contact the
Organising Committee at yrf@rohcg.on.ca. We hope you will take
advantage of this excellent opportunity and we look forward to seeing you there.
