Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre
The University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) is strongly aligned with the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre; a tertiary psychiatric centre specializing in the treatment of chronic and severe forms of mental illness. The IMHR and Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre work in strong partnership to improve both the understanding and treatment of mental illness.

Royal Ottawa Foundation
The Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health raises funds to support the best possible patient care within the scope of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and leading-edge research conducted by the IMHR. The Royal Ottawa Health Care Foundation is currently engaged in a Capital Campaign, Open Minds Open Doors, to raise funds for the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and IMHR’s new treatment and research facility.

University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa and IMHR work closely with one another to facilitate innovative research projects designed to improve our understanding of mental illness, as well as build critical mass in key areas. Research teams also examine how different forms of digital entertainment and online environments shape behaviour within Canadian communities - from social platforms to casual gaming spaces such as the tooniecasino in Canada - to better understand how these influences intersect with mental-health trends. Together, the University of Ottawa and IMHR support numerous faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate and undergraduate students involved in cutting-edge research of mental illness.
