Your heart and lungs work together, whereby the heart pumps blood which is received by the lungs. The right side of the heart receives blood which it pups to the lungs and the left side of the heart receives blood from the lungs and pumps it to the rest of the body.

When you inhale your left atrium received the oxygenated blood it will pass to the channel called valve and goes to the left ventricle. The left ventricle will pump out oxygenated blood to the arteries, capillaries and to our body cells to supply nutrients and become de-oxygenated blood then go to veins and received by the right atrium then to the right ventricle which will pump out the de-oxygenated blood back to the lungs. To sum it up, our heart and lungs work together when we take breath.
