Research Ethics Board (REB)
The Research Ethics Board reviews the ethical aspects of research proposals involving human subjects that will be conducted within the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (ROHCG) which includes the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and its affiliated sites and the Brockville Mental Health Centre and its associated sites. Research projects involving human subjects must be reviewed and approved by the REB before work is started.
The REB conforms to the guidelines as set out in the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (1998) and ICH Good Clinical Practice: Consolidated Guidelines (Health Canada, 1997).
Meetings are held on a monthly basis.
The current Chair of the Research Ethics Board is Dr. Pierre Blier.
