Diana Koszycki (PhD, C.Psych)
Diana Koszycki (PhD, C.Psych.) is a Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Carleton University. She is the Director of the Stress and Anxiety Clinical Research Unit at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research and a registered psychologist in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
Dr. Koszycki is an experimental and clinical psychologist with training in biological and psychological analysis of behaviour and in psychotherapy. She has received international recognition for her research on the role of cholecystokinin in the neurobiology of anxiety (in collaboration with Dr. Jacques Bradwejn).
She also conducts research on risk factors for anxiety disorders and on the efficacy of medications and psychological interventions for anxiety and depression. She has an interest in alternative/complementary medicine and has conducted research on herbal remedies, mindfulness meditation and spiritual-interventions. Her research has been supported by external peer-reviewed granting agencies including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Ontario Mental Health Foundation, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. Her research is also supported by the University Medical Research Fund.
Dr. Koszycki has published almost 70 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters and over 140 abstracts in scientific proceedings. She is actively involved in teaching, psychotherapy supervision, and education. She is a member of the Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies, Canadian Psychological Association, Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology, International Society for Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and Society for Biological Psychiatry. She sits on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry and serves on review committees for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
