Lisheng Du (PhD)

Lisheng Du is a research fellow at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research and a lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Du's research interests include the identification of genetic factors that make individuals vulnerable to major psychiatric disorders and the study of biological markers for depression and suicidal behaviour. Working from the UOIMHR's Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory, Dr. Du and his colleagues recently discovered a genetic polymorphism that may predict a vulnerability to suicide among people with major depressive disorder. Dr. Du has published many scientific articles in leading, international peer-reviewed journals.
