Martine Flament (MD, PhD)
Martine Flament is Director of the Youth Psychiatry Research Unit and Full Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining the IMHR, she was a researcher at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research in France. Dr. Flament’s main research interests are in youth psychiatry focusing on obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders and substance use disorders. More recently she has pursued research in the pharmacological treatment of OCD within the youth and adult population and has also studied clinical response to antidepressant drugs in various subgroups of depressed adult patients. In addition, she has developed measurement instruments for studying the youth population; scientific and clinical research are lacking in the area of youth psychiatry.
