Susan Farrell (PhD)
Susan Farrell is a Clinical Psychologist with the Dual Diagnosis Consultation Outreach Team and the Psychiatric Outreach Team of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. She is the Head of Evaluation Research for the Community Mental Health Program and directs the development of service evaluation initiatives on the community-based teams and selected inpatient units of the Royal Ottawa and Brockville Mental Health Centres.
Her research activities are in the areas of evaluating community-based services and focus on the investigation of the efficacy of new models of intervention, including measurement of quality of life and community integration and the application of multiple evaluation methodologies, including costing.
Her research interests are in the areas of mental health and homelessness, dual diagnosis (developmental disabilities and mental illness) and the evaluation of community-based services. Dr. Farrell's research is currently funded by CIHR and SSHRC to examine aspects of quality of life and service integration for vulnerable persons living in the community. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and a Clinical Professor in the School of Psychology, University of Ottawa.
She is also a member of the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral studies, University of Ottawa, and supervises PhD students in the areas of dual diagnosis and community mental health service delivery.
